Duggans travel to Oklahoma, Arkansas

Tom and Dee Duggan spent Oct. 17-22 in Oklahoma and Arkansas. They met Ernie Bonham and friend Brenda Friday at Caney for a visit on their way to Bartlesville, Okla., where they were guests of Ernie and Darlene Kite. The Duggans and Kites went to Joplin, Mo., Saturday for a cousins reunion at the home of Ben and Pat Schultz. From there they went to Rogers, Ark., where they were Saturday overnight and Sunday guests of Dave, Cathy, and Abby Kite, before returning to Bartlesville Sunday evening. Monday they toured a historic Catholic church at Pawhuka. Its stained glass windows were made in Germany shortly before WWII. When war broke out, the windows were buried for safekeeping and shipped to this country after the war. They also drove through Tall Grass Prairie Reserve. All attended a horse sale Tuesday evening where Dee and Darlene's brother, Bill Backius, was the auctioneer.
Russ Kerbs took Reuben Kerbs II of Dodge City and Reuben and Lucille Kerbs out for breakfast Monday morning.
Tillie Hein and Martha Melcher went with a group from Hope Monday to the Golden Eagle Casino.
A spaghetti supper was held Sunday evening at Trinity Lutheran Parish Hall in Ramona to benefit Lisa Hanschu who has undergone a bone marrow harvest for treatment of leukemia. All of Lisa's family, including Ronnie Hanschu, James and Anna, Frank and Anna Mae Stika, and Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki, and many other Tampa people attended.
Jim and Mary Clemmer were Sunday supper guests of Dale and Sandy Clemmer and Cassie in Salina.
Kaylee Hall of Herington is spending this week with her grandparents, Tom and Dee Duggan.
Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt visited Sunday afternoon with Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion. Leona and Adeline attended the benefit for Lisa Hanschu at Ramona.
Reuben and Lucille Kerbs attended the Celebration of the Festival of the Reformation service Sunday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington.
Donald and Carolyn Srajer and Ted and Maxine Zielinski of Omaha, Neb., spent the weekend visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole. All were Saturday supper guests and Sunday dinner guests of Jim and Kris. They helped Grant celebrate his eighth birthday Saturday evening. Jim and Grant attended the KSU football game on Saturday.

Jim and Mary Clemmer are the proud great-grandparents of Cierra Dahn Walker, born Oct. 23 to Chris and Dahn Walker of Lilburn, Ga.

A number of Tampa people attended the Harvest Mission Festival Sunday at the Durham Baptist Church. Speakers at the morning and evening services were Dr. Dennis and Nancy Palmer who have served as missionaries in Cameroon and plan to return there next year. A potluck dinner was enjoyed after the morning service.

Georgia Spohn met Norma and Orlin Wagner of Wichita Friday in Hillsboro for dinner.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs attended the 4-A substate girls' volleyball tournament Saturday at Chapman. Their granddaughter Allison Phillips played for the Abilene Cowgirls, who took first place. Others in Allison's cheering section included Doug and Connie Thompson and Taylor of Abilene, Glenn and Eloise Kerbs of Dodge City, and Clayton Kerbs and a friend from Omaha, Neb.
Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Ellen Erickson went to Wichita Thursday. They visited Linda Bernhardt and took Ellen to the airport to return to her home in Tacoma, Wash.
Lenora Graham of Florence and Georgia Spohn met Thursday morning at Hillsboro for the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College. The featured speaker was Rhonda Holman of the Wichita Eagle. Afterward they enjoyed dinner out.

Dee Duggan and Adeline Bernhardt joined members of the Shady Ladies Oct. 15 for a luncheon in Abilene. After lunch the group went to Solomon for a tour of God's Garden. Shady Ladies are associated with a national organization called Red Hat Ladies. Leona Kleiber also is a member of the group.
Steve Spohn of Hope, Gary and Carole Spohn, and Georgia Spohn went to a cookout Oct. 19 at the home of Ryan and Claudette Spohn, Adam and Lauren in Manhattan. The occasion was to celebrate Gary's birthday.
