DUIs are investigated
An individual was stopped for speeding by Undersheriff Randal Brazil at 8:45 p.m. Aug. 9 on U.S.-56 at milepost 300. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under influence and endangering a child.
An individual allowed his dog to run at large in Lost Springs. At approximately 5 p.m. July 27, the dog killed kittens belonging to Lawrence E. Jenkins, 195 N. Jefferson, Lost Springs, reports Undersheriff Brazil.
An individual was shooting bottle rockets between 8:10 and 8:25 p.m. Aug. 12. After being told to stop, the individual continued to fire the remaining bottle rockets, reports Deputy Aaron Waddell.
Someone used a blunt object between 10:55 and 11:23 a.m. Aug. 3 to enter the home of Debby Lynn Gustafson, 541 180th, Hillsboro. When Gustafson arrived home the person still was in the house. The individual grabbed Gustafson and made advances. Kimberly D. Albertson, 317 S. Ash, Hillsboro, was a witness. Law enforcement arrived and arrested the individual, reports Deputy Waddell.
A driver drove a vehicle through 50 yards of corn belonging to Clark E. Wiebe, 1131 190th, Hillsboro, at 7 p.m. July 31. The value of the corn, located at 210th 1/4 mile west of Jade, is valued at $50, reports Deputy Mike Vineski.
After consuming alcohol for about two hours in the presence of an individual's seven-year-old son, two people began arguing between 7:42 and 10:01 p.m. July 29 at 105 S. Chicago, Lost Springs. One of the individuals broke the car windshield then both began exchanging punches. The windshield is valued at $300, reports Deputy Vineski.
A person used an unknown object and physical force to damage a brass door knob in an attempt to gain entry to a building at 100 W. Main, Goessel. The owner of the property, Norman G. Schmidt, 510 Centennial Dr., Goessel, states the damage occurred between 1 p.m. July 30 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 5, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt.
An unknown individual pried open a rear door at 1916 340th, Lost Springs, between 5 p.m. July 18 and 5 p.m. July 25. A stereo system, TV, and pipe wrench, belonging to Gilbert M. Smith of Neosho Rapids, were taken, reports Deputy Vineski. The property is valued at $300.
A driver was stopped by Deputy Schmidt at 6:25 a.m. Aug. 2 at U.S.-56 and Pawnee for speeding. A status check on the driver's license revealed it was suspended. The individual was cited for speeding, arrested, and transported to Marion County Jail.
An individual was stopped on Main Street, Marion at 1:47 a.m. Aug. 1 for weaving and drifting in the lane. A strong odor of alcohol was present and the individual failed field sobriety tests, reports Deputy Vineski.
