Dutch Greenemeyer
David "Dutch" Greenemeyer Jr., 76, Herington, died July 6, 2003, at the Veterans' Hospital in Topeka. He was born on Oct. 25, 1926, in Marion, the son of David Sr. and Mary (Staley) Greenemeyer.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, at the United Methodist Church, Herington, with the Rev. Edward Thompson officiating. He was buried at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, with military honors.
He was a pattern maker for Beech Aircraft until he retired in 1989. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Herington, and the Dix-Day VFW Post #1281 of Herington.
He married Mary Lou Clore Oct. 25, 1947, in Marion. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter Tracy Trego of Princess Anne, Md.; three sons, Leslie Greenemeyer and Kirk Greenemeyer, both of Herington, and Tony Greenemeyer of Salina; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Tina Greenemeyer on Nov. 27, 1962; a brother, Lee Greenemeyer in 1987; and his parents.
The family requests memorials to the Kansas Veterans Administration or the Herington United Methodist Church.
