Elda Stean
Elda Marie Riesen Stean, 85, died March 26, 2004, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center, Hillsboro.
Born March 4, 1919, at Hillsboro, she was the daughter of Adolf and Elizabeth (Nikkel) Funk.
On April 18, 1940, she married Karl D. Riesen at Hillsboro. He died in 1987. She married Adney Stean on Nov. 13, 1999, at Hillsboro.
A housewife, she was a member of Trinity Mennonite Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Roland Riesen.
Survivors include her husband, Adney of Hillsboro; a son, Arlen Riesen of Hillsboro; two daughters, Marilyn Lundblade of Owasso, Okla., and Jan Tingen of Salina; two stepsons, Adney Stean of Riverside, Mo., and Larry Stean of Tonganoxie; two stepdaughters, Izzie Klassen of Hillsboro and Wendy Verdict of Bonner Springs; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and 22 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Tim Kliewer officiating. Burial was in Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
