Elva Langhafer
Elva M. Langhofer, 95, died May 3, 2004, at Herington Municipal Hospital.
Born April 16, 1909, at Latimer, she was the daughter of William and Rosa (Blum) Adam.
A life-long resident of the Herington area, she was a homemaker and member of Church of God, Herington.
On Dec. 3, 1930, she married Harry Langhofer at Woodbine. He died in 1974.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Dale, Merle, Harry, and Percy Adam; a sister, Lois Kemp; son, Charles Langhofer; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include four sons, DeVern, Delphos, Wayne, and Gavin, all of Herington; two daughters, Joyce Daugherty of Herington and Ima Jean Wrighton of Waynesville, Mo.; two brothers, Kenneth Adam of Kansas City and Howard Adam of Garden City; two sisters, Rose Marie King of Kansas City and Treva Kellogg of Herington; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of God, Herington, with the Rev. Glenn Raw officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lester Trusty.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
