Emily and Justin French are wed

Emily Nicolle Belton and Justin Andrew French, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, were united in marriage at 2 p.m., Aug. 16, 2003, at the Church of the Nativity in Leawood. Father Al Rockers performed the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Edward and Gwenn Belton of Tampa. Parents of the groom are Richard and Terry French of Hutchinson.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless A-lined, semi-cathedral length ivory satin dress adorned with a beaded and embroidered bodice. She carried white calla lilies and tulips with purple hydrangeas.

Serving her sister as maid of honor was Colleen Belton, Lawrence. Bridesmaids were Gloria Belton, sister of the bride, from Tampa; Katie Kabler, Houston, Texas; Jill Will, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Erin Barnes, Kansas City, Mo.; and Carolyn Weber, Ogallala, Neb. They wore Victorian lilac, strapless A-lined dresses and carried bouquets featuring purple calla lilies, lavender hydrangea, and white tulips.

Brandon Baker of Lenexa was the best man. Groomsmen were Spencer McCracken, Justin Stout, and David Ayres, brother-in-law of the groom, all of Overland Park; Jason French, brother of the groom, Hutchinson; and Derek Belton, brother of the bride, Tampa.

Soloists were Kerry Priest, Sarah Geiger, and Jim French.

Candlelighters were Elizabeth Baddeley, cousin of the bride, and Amanda Weinberg, cousin of the groom.

Flower girls were Sydney Moore, Mattie Moore, Lily Ayres, and Toni French, all nieces of the groom. The ring bearer was Kaleb Holy, cousin of the bride.

A reception followed the ceremony at St. Andrews Golf course in Overland Park. The bride's table featured a four-tiered white cake, while the groom's cake was made of chocolate and decorated with a purple "Power Cat."

Cicely Karst and Sara Ayres were in charge of the guest book.

Following a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple is at home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The bride is a graduate of Centre High School in Lost Springs and Kansas State University. She is employed as a quality supervisor with Quaker Food and Beverages,

The groom is a graduate of Buhler High School and Kansas State University. He is employed as a process improvement engineer with Quaker Food and Beverages.
