Erich Utech
Erich W. Utech, 84, of Ramona, died Nov. 6, 2004, at Lutheran Care Home, Herington.
Born Jan. 7, 1920, at Tampa, he was the son of William and Marie Anna (Schlesener) Utech.
He was a Technician Fifth Grade as a surgical/medical technician during World War II, serving in France, Africa, and Italy. He was discharged from the 23rd Station Hospital, Camp Crowder, Mo.
A retired farmer, he lived all his life in the Tampa and Ramona communities. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the church fellowship club. He was a member of the Tampa VFW and the Hoedown Square Dance Club.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Cole, Judith Carsten, and Marie Hill; and his parents.
Survivors include three brothers, Fred Utech of Ramona and Bill Utech and Junior Utech, both of Topeka; and four sisters, Edna Mueller of Tampa, Erna Peterson of Osage City, Delores Siggs of Goddard, and Grace Raven of Marietta, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona, with the Rev. Clark Davis officiating.
Burial was in Lewis Cemetery, Ramona, with full military honors.
A memorial fund has been established with the American Cancer Society.
