Erna Harms

Erna A. Harms, 97, died Feb. 10, 2004, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.

Born Dec. 1, 1906, at Beatrice, Neb., she was the daughter of Gerhard and Anna Gertrude (Claassen) Wiebe.

A school teacher, she was a member of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

On Oct. 3, 1941, she married Orlando Harms at Beatrice, Neb. He died in 1993.

Survivors include two sons, James Harms of Newton and Robert Harms of Guilford, Conn.; a daughter, Marilyn Jeppesen of Slidell, La.; a sister, Anne Miller or Normal, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Vera Wiebe of Beatrice, Neb.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor David Plett officiating.

Burial was in Ebenfeld MB Church Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

A memorial fund has been established with the Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies at Tabor College.
