Etta Mae Plenert
Etta Mae Plenert, 77, died Nov. 14, 2002, at The Cedars, McPherson.
Born Oct. 5, 1925, at Lyons, she was the daughter of Ferd and Mabel (Olsen) Matz.
Before moving to McPherson in 1943, she lived in Lehigh and Arlington.
On Jan. 31, 1947, she married Roland Plenert at McPherson.
She was a homemaker and licensed cosmetologist, as well as a member of First United Methodist Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Roland; four sons, Darrell, Richard, and Mike, all of McPherson and Jerry of Moundridge; a daughter, Joyce Gingrich of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother, Elton Matz of Lincolnville; three sisters, Margaret Steinert of Raytown, Mo., Jean McCallister of Des Moines, Iowa, and Phyllis Schafer of Canyon City, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, McPherson, with the Rev. Michael Marion officiating. Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with The Cedars or VFW Auxiliary.
