Evelyn Cahoj

Evelyn M. Cahoj, 89, of Atwood, died Dec. 9, 2004.

Born April 20, 1915, she was one of five children of Joseph and Forentina (Ptacek) Melcher of Marion.

She graduated from Lincolnville High School in 1933, then worked in a defense plant in Wichita.

On May 11, 1948, she married Albin Cahoj at St. John Catholic Church, Pilsen.

They lived in northwest Rawlins County and the couple had three sons, Albin, Gregory, and Randall.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albin; son, Randy; three sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, and Albina; and a brother, Joseph.

Survivors include two sons, Albin and Greg and wife Julie, all of Atwood; and two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at St. John Nep. Catholic Church, northwest of Atwood, with Father Damian Richards as celebrant.

Burial was in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, rural Atwood.

A memorial fund was established with the Prairie Development Center, Atwood.
