Event raises $2,600 for heart fund years ago
Some very important citizens went to jail to raise money for the American Heart Association. The Cardiac Arrest held Wednesday at the Marion City Building raised $2,600.
Event Parole Warden Jamee Fritzemeier said, "Some of the charges were guilt of overeating, taking candy from a baby, etc. The charges were trumped up a bit, but it was all in good fun."
"On behalf of the American Heart Association, I want to thank everyone for making this event a success. Without their generosity we wouldn't be able to fund life-saving research, community programs, and public education," said Fritzemeier who is Central District Director of AHA.
Among those who helped make the event a success were Parole Board: Khrista Branson, Tudy Brunner, Mitch Carlson, Ann Carr, Chris Costello, Lisa Donahue, Jan Helmer, Jo Hett, Vicki Hoffer, Traci Lanning, Kathy Meierhoff, Susan Nichols, Living Center Activity Dept., and Lee Becker as "Judge Heartless."
