Family celebrates Kerbs' birthday

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs joined their family for dinner out in Salina Sunday in celebration of Reuben's birthday. Others present were Glenn and Eloise Kerbs and Reuben Kerbs of Dodge City, Cristy Cammack of Manhattan, Tim and Marchelle Kerbs, Ashton Kerbs, and Jesse Smith of Salina, Molly Kerbs of Hays, April Kerbs of Emporia, Doug and Connie Thompson, Allison and Taylor of Abilene, and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn. Following the meal, all went to Tim and Marchelle's home for birthday cake and ice cream. Clayton Kerbs of Omaha, Neb., was unable to be present.
Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Frank and Anna Mae Stika enjoyed dinner out Sunday in Hillsboro.
Eleanor Murphy, Martha Melcher, and Tillie Hein attended the card party Sunday evening in Herington.
Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt visited Sunday afternoon with Milda Krauter at Marion Manor.
Greg Sklenar of Wichita spent Sunday with Lois Sklenar and Valerie Hampton.
John and Pat Schwartzman of Salina spent Sunday with his mother, Helen Schwartzman. They attended church in Herington and a soup dinner at the Catholic parish hall in Hope. Other Tampa people attending the soup dinner were Eleanor Murphy, Martha Melcher, and Tillie Hein.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended a farewell dinner Sunday for Leona Loney at Pilsen.
Lori Moldenhauer and some friends from work enjoyed a day out Saturday in Wichita.
Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie visited Saturday with Sister Mary Cora Rziha at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent in Wichita. Other visitors were Diane Herron and Peter. Later, they were dinner guests of Jim and Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter.
Galen and Betty Parsons and Larry Parsons of Mount Hope and Helen Jean McGonigle of Wichita were Saturday afternoon visitors of Helen Schwartzman.
Leona Kleiber accompanied Lynn and Peggy Kleiber to White City Saturday for the league scholars' bowl. Amanda Kleiber was one of the students competing.
Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn met Steve Spohn Saturday at Ramona for dinner.
Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Salina Friday to visit Beulah Herbic at Salina Regional Medical Center, Penn Campus, where she is recovering from surgery. Her husband, Glenn Herbic of Alma, also was present.
Leona Kleiber visited Ruth and Charles Heiser late Saturday afternoon.
Mary Christiansen of Durham, Dee Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, and Leona Kleiber joined other members of the Red Hat Ladies for a potluck dinner Thursday at the home of Sue Olson in Herington.
Irene Beamis of Ramona and Anna Mae Stika enjoyed dinner out Wednesday in Council Grove.
Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence in Hillsboro Wednesday for dinner out.

Russ Kerbs took his parents, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, out for breakfast Jan. 13, to celebrate Reuben's birthday. Later, Reuben and Lucille went to Salina, where they saw the movie, "Cheaper by the Dozen," and enjoyed supper at Coyote Canyon. Their granddaughter, Ashton Kerbs, who works there, was able to join them for a brief visit.
The Sunflower Senior Citizens held their monthly potluck dinner and meeting Jan. 13 at the senior center with Jim and Mary Clemmer as hosts. After the meeting the group enjoyed watching a Red Skelton video. Others present included Margaret Jirak, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Helen Costello, Magdalen Dvorak, Frank Patton, Bonnie Crandall, Maxine Mueller, Tom and Dee Duggan, Tillie Hein, Eleanor Murphy, Martha Melcher, and Jane Vajnar.
Georgia Spohn met Melvin Mohn of Lyons at Lindsborg Jan. 13 for dinner out.
A group of women enjoyed a belated Christmas dinner Jan. 12 at the cafe. The occasion had been postponed from the scheduled date in December, because of inclement weather. Those present included Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Catherine Hajek, Lorene Kleiber, Beryl Steiner, Agnes Steinert, Shirley Hamm, Eleanor Herbel, Tillie Hein, Helen Costello, Bonnie Crandall, and Dee Duggan. Beryl and Dee were hostesses.
