Felix Lee

Felix (Phil) Lee, 86, died March 20, 2004, at his home in Marion.

Born Oct. 26, 1917, at Omaha, Neb., he was the son of John and Dorothy (Baker) Lee.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was in the infantry during the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked for Irv Schroeder County Motors in Hillsboro for more than 30 years in the body maintenance and repair department.

He was a member of Valley United Methodist Church and Ecker-Fulkerson-Slifer VFW Post #6958.

On Feb. 23, 1947, he married Betty Sells at Herington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Robert; and two sisters, Ethel Blount and Helen Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Marion; a daughter, Judy Inlow of Florence; two sisters, Virginia Jenson of Omaha and Dorothy Shepherd of Wichita; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, with the Rev. Kennedy Mukwindidza officiating.

Burial was in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery, Burdick, with full military honors by a special funeral detail from Fort Riley.

A memorial fund has been established with the church.
