Marion County Fire District #7, which serves Tampa, Blaine, and Clark townships, has received a $4,000 matching grant from Kansas State Forestry. The money will be used for a new pump motor and a portable tank. With a matching grant the district will raise $2,000 to match the $2,000 grant. News of this grant has come on the heels of last week's notice of a $67,573 grant from FEMA, for which the district will have to match only 10 percent. This means the community will need to raise about $8,500 to get more than $68,000 worth of much-needed equipment.
