First kiss was disappointment

The Regis and Kelly TV show is running a program on getting first loves together again. I tried to think back and couldn't think of anyone who I particularly wanted to get together with. Of course, there were some boys, at the time, who were pretty important. I wonder what the attraction was?

I think it was in the eighth or ninth grade that I was getting anxious to know how it would feel to be kissed. I guess you never forget the first one. It was really quite a disappointment, nothing like what I had seen in the movies. It was years and a few kisses later that I found a really nice kiss. Now what will the grandchildren say to that?

Barbara Bush says she only kissed one man and she married him.

Valentine's Day is a good excuse to express some love for a person. In country school we had a post office with a box. With much giggling and pink faces we would put our Valentines therein. What a thrill to receive one from a special person.

Now I understand that even junior high kids think they have to buy roses for the girl they admire. I hope they don't make those ugly, hateful Valentines anymore.

The Wichita Eagle had quite a spread about the book "The DaVinci Code." At least it may get people to read the Bible, to find out what he is writing about. I'm sure all the publicity helped to sell the author's book. I enjoyed it.
