Flint Hills Firearms moves to downtown Marion

Cindy and Mike Ragland have moved their firearms business to Marion. They are located in the former Klenda and Karstetter law office at 500 E. Main.

They purchased Flint Hills Firearms from Carl and Juanita Stovall this past October and have been operating it there until now.

Cindy said the upcoming reconstruction of U.S.-77 played a big part in their decision to relocate. They were concerned customers would have a difficult time accessing the business.

Flint Hills Firearms continues to stock new and used shotguns, rifles, and pistols, and can special order any firearm a customer wants. Scopes may be mounted and bore-sited at the store.

FBI checks are conducted on gun purchasers.

The store also provides ammunition and reloading supplies, as well as hunting and fishing licenses.

Business hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. When proprietors attend weekend gun shows, the store will be closed Saturday.

"Our goal is to be competitive in pricing within a 100-mile radius of Marion," Cindy said.

The Raglands have two businesses combined into one as Flint Hills Firearms and Retrievers.

They have raised Labrador retrievers and provided dog training at their farm southeast of Marion since July 2001.

The Raglands have two sons. Marshall, 12, attends Marion Middle School. Mitchell, 11, is home-schooled. He will enter public school next year.
