Florence Historical Society receives Harvey sugar bowl

An original Fred Harvey sugar bowl was donated to the Harvey House Museum during the Jan. 18 Florence Historical Society meeting.

The sugar bowl was donated by Bev Baldwin and her sister-in-law, Goldie Lagree. The dish was owned by Bev's mother-in-law, Dorothy Baldwin of Newton.

Neva Robinson reported numerous meals were served during Christmas parties in December. Also, 2005 community calendars still are available for sale.

The group worked on goals for the coming year. Museum members are looking for community members who are willing to donate time to keep the newly redecorated and remodeled museum open during daytime hours.

Recipes still are needed for the cookbook and may be submitted to Krystal Timm.

Members attending the meeting were Twilah Williams, Mary Jane Grimmett, Harvey Wells, Ernie Hurdle, Neva Robinson, Sarah Cope, Judy Mills, Marjorie Jackson, and Sara Neal.
