Florence PRIDE committee announces plans for newsletter
Holiday home tour, other Christmas projects discussed
Plans for a community newsletter were discussed when the Florence Pride Committee met Nov. 15 at the ambulance building.
The newsletter will be published monthly for the community. Rick Burcky will be the editor. The newsletter will include noteworthy stories, pictures, and advertisements for area businesses. Story deadline will be the 20th of each month.
The newsletter will be available on the first day of each month and can be purchased at area business for $1 per issue. A 12-month subscription may be purchased for $10. The first issue will be free of charge.
A Holiday Christmas Home Tour will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 14. All proceeds will go to the Pride Committee for various community projects.
Members of the Pride Committee will assist any Florence residents who are unable to hang up outside Christmas lights on their home. Those needing assistance should sign up at the city building. The deadline to sign up is Nov. 26. Lights will be installed the weekend of Nov. 28-29 and the following week.
Those attending the Florence Pride Committee meeting were Twilah Williams, Gary Nesser, Rick Burcky, Jackie Sigwing, Ed Robinson, Sherri Austin, and Janette Parmley. Officers attending were Sue Klassen, chairman, and Mary Jane Grimmett, secretary.
