Francis Groening
Francis J. Groening, 89, died Aug. 8, 2004, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center Long Term Care Unit.
Born July 10, 1915, in Lehigh, he was the son of Frank and Anna (Fleming) Groening.
On Nov. 25, 1943, he married Martha Wiens at Hillsboro. She died in 1992. He was in the sand and gravel business and a member of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie Hendrickson of Hillsboro, Sheryl McDaniel of Holton, and Gala Liebelt of Satanta; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Dave Plett officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with Celebrate Hope.
