Frank Strait
Frank W. Strait, 87, of El Dorado, died April 27, 2004, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.
Born June 25, 1916, at Leon, he was the son of Perry and Fanny (Dixon) Strait. He graduated from Leon High School with the class of 1933.
He spent his life in Butler County and was a retired oil producer and rancher.
He was a member of Leon United Methodist Church, a 66-year member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #223, A.F. & A.M., Midian Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters, a former member of Rotary, a former director of Citizens State Bank, and a member of the board of directors of Butler County Historical Society and Oil Museum.
On July 18, 1978, he married Eloise Squire Blakeman in Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise; a daughter, Judy Mills of Florence; two stepdaughters, Sue Unger of Bolivar, Mo., and Kaye Beam of Pratt; two sisters, including his twin sister, Frances Brown of Wichita and Joan Stroda of Hope; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Leon United Methodist Church.
Masonic services and burial were in Quito Cemetery, Leon.
Memorials have been established with the church, Joppa Masonic Lodge #223, and Butler County Historical Society Oil Museum.
