Fred Pracht
Fred S. Pracht, 92, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cottonwood Falls.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls.
Pastor Larry Timm of Cedar Point Community Church will be the officiating clergyman. Interment will follow in Cedar Point Cemetery.
Fredrick Samuel Pracht, son of Oscar and Mae Laughridge Pracht, was born Sept. 12, 1909, at Elk. He was a graduate of Marion High School. On March 17, 1937, he was married in Wichita to Ola Byram.
A farmer in the Cedar Point area most of his life, he and Ola moved to the Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center in 1998.
He was a member of the Cedar Point Methodist Church and served on the church board for years. He also served on the Cedar Point school board for years and was treasurer of Falls Township board.
Survivors included his wife, Ola; two brothers, Dana Pracht of Hugh Springs, Texas, and Harold Pracht of El Paso, Texas; a sister, Ruth Christe of El Paso, Texas; many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Orville, Elvin, Ronald, and Neal Pracht, and a sister, Della Jacques.
The family suggests memorials to either the Cedar Point Community Church or Chase County Health and Rehabilitation Center.
