Free feature added to website
Subscribers now may search this newspaper's online archive for free.
To search for a previous week's story, enter your search terms in the blank at the bottom of the headlines menu, on the left side of our Web site, then click on the "GO" button.
A list of stories from this year that were posted online and contained all the words you searched for will be displayed along with the date on which each was published.
Searches take a few seconds to complete, so please be patient and press "GO" only once.
To narrow your search to precise matches, put words that go together inside quotation marks. For example, searching for JOHN SMITH might yield a story mentioning JOHN JONES and SALLY SMITH. However, searching for "JOHN SMITH" with quotation marks around the name will yield only those stories containing JOHN SMITH. It will not find stories containing JOHN Q. SMITH, because that would not be an exact match.
Punctuation, certain propositions and other common words, including the name of the community, are automatically not searchable because virtually every story would mention them. However, it is possible to search for names of surrounding communities.
The service is free only to paid subscribers who register to use the newspaper's Web site. It is not available to trial users.
Current online archives go back to Christmas week.
