Fruechting is punt, pass, kick winner
Brian Fruechting, in the boys' 10-11-year-old division, had the best total in the Punt, Pass & Kick competition held in Marion Sept. 21, according to organizer Casey Case.
Fruechting had a total in the three-part event of 243' 4" to win his division. Second was Sheldon Boone with 222' 5". Will Case had 190' 4", for third place.
In the 12-13-year-old boys' division, Elliot Hett was the winner with a total of 219' 7". Runner-up was Matt Thierolf at 180' 8". Third went to Isaac Hett with 164' 11".
In the 8-9-year old boys' division, Cole Lewman topped the field with 151' 2". Austin Pedersen was second at 117-2, and Brayden Putter third at 111' 10".
Girls
In the 8-9-year old girls' division, Erin Meierhoff was the winner with 51 feet total.
10-11 girls: Alexis Cain first, 130' 6"; Rachel Thurston second, 91' 8"; Bridget Lundy third, 81'.
12-13 girls: Lanna Carroll was the winner at 219' 5".
The first-place winners will advance to the sectional competition at 2 p.m. Nov. 2 in Wellington, Case said.
