Gallery features work of Wayne Conyers
Friendship Art Gallery on the McPherson College campus is featuring the artwork of faculty member Wayne Conyers.
Currently in his 20th year of teaching art at McPherson College, Conyers is a potter and a painter. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Bethany College in 1974, a master of arts degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1981, and his master of fine arts degree from Fort Hays State University in 1997.
Conyers' watercolors have been shown extensively and have won numerous awards at local, regional, and national levels. He is a member of the Kansas Watercolor Society, the Watercolor USA Honor Society, the Western Colorado Watercolor Society, and Phi Kappa Phi.
Conyers is the son of Harold and Vivian Conyers of Marion.
Conyers and faculty member Kelly Frigård will be honored at a reception from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The exhibit runs through Dec. 31. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
