Gary Steiner
Gary D. Steiner, 55, died Feb. 18, 2004, at his home near Lincolnville.
Born Feb. 5, 1949, in Lincolnville, he was the son of Henry and Tillie (Urbanek) Steiner.
He was a hard-working farmer and served for many years as a school bus driver for Centre USD 397. He was active in church activities and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. An avid bowler with many trophies, he enjoyed all sports, especially softball. He also played saxophone for polka dances.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Delores Steiner.
Survivors include a brother, Larry Steiner of Tampa.
The rosary was recited Monday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Kathleen Oborny served as rosary leader.
Mass was said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Nep. Church, Holy Family Parish, Pilsen, with Father Steve Gronert officiating.
Kathleen Oborny was lector and the Eucharistic minister was Bob Reznicek.
Special music was provided by the church choir and Alex Stuchlik on the accordion. Charlene Svitak was organist.
Casket bearers were Dennis Steiner, Terry Steiner, Ron Makovec, Dennis Klenda, Steve Vernon, and Danny Rudolph.
Bob Neuwirth, Kelly Steiner, and Gail Makovec served as ushers.
Burial was in Pilsen Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with the Pilsen Community Center.
