George and Nicole Alamia exchange vows
Nicole Pensabene and George Alamia were married Aug. 1, 2003, in the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, Port Jefferson, N.Y. Father John Worthley officiated at the nuptial Mass.
Parents of the couple are Paul and Patti Pensabene and Ignazio and Nancy Alamia, all of Holbrook, N.Y. The bride is the granddaughter of former Marion resident Peggy Thies of Salina, who was present at the ceremony.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. Her off-the-shoulder gown by Pronovias of New York was fashioned of fine satin brocade and trimmed with seed pearls and crystals. A veil of silk netting, tipped with satin, flowed from a tiara headpiece of rhinestones and pearls. She carried a nosegay of white and ivory-pink tipped roses and stephanotis accented with pearls. Her jewelry consisted of a single strand of pearls borrowed from her mother and diamond and pearl earrings.
Angela Prichard of Brooklyn, N.Y., attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Neimeth, Laura Balsamo, and the groom's sister Connie Alamia, all of Holbrook, Joanna Brazier of Huntington, N.Y., and Jennifer Trojello of Port Jefferson, N.Y. Their floor-length gowns of black satin featured A-line skirts with off-the-shoulder champagne-colored bodices trimmed with beads. Reversible stoles completed the ensembles. Each carried a nosegay of Nicole roses.
Serving the groom as best man was his brother David Alamia of Holbrook. Groomsmen were another brother Stevan Alamia of Florida, the groom's brother-in-law Stephen Cartolano, the bride's brother-in-law Robert Prichard, Thomas Buttacavoli, and Joseph Barrett.
A reception and dance followed at Hamlet Wind Watch Golf and Country Club in Hauppauge, N.Y.
The bride is an elementary school teacher at Copiage, Long Island, N.Y. The groom is a physical education teacher and coach at Smithtown Elementary School.
The couple honeymooned in the Hawaiian Islands and now reside in Port Jefferson, N.Y.
