Georgia Bezdek

Georgia E. Bezdek, 84, died July 14, 2003, at Marion.

Born March 14, 1919, at the family farm home, rural Marion, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Hajek Bezdek.

She grew up on the family farm and attended nearby Wren Rural School.

As a young woman she entered St. Anthony's Order and for a time was housekeeper for Fr. Peter Stremel at Claflin.

She also worked at Marion Pharmacy and as a nurse aide at St. Luke Hospital. She later served as a clerk at Gessler's Drug Store in Wichita until retirement in 1988.

She was a dedicated and active member of Holy Family Parish.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Svitak; and two brothers, Leonard and Ernest Bezdek.

Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Bezdek of Marion and Vivian Wood of Tonkawa, Okla.; nieces and nephews.

The Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home with Fr. Paul Oborny the leader.

The Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Thursday morning at St. Mark church of Holy Family Parish, Marion, with Fr. Andy Seiller and Fr. Paul Oborny as con-celebrants.

Sharon Bezdek was lector. Cindy and Andrea Bezdek were the gift bearers. Music was by Jeremy Bezdek as vocalist and Charlene Svitak as organist.

Casket bearers were John Bezdek, Jay Bezdek, Mark Bezdek, L.J. Bezdek, Michael Bezdek, and Adam Bezdek.

Burial was in St. John Nepomucene Cemetery, Pilsen.

Memorial funds have been established at St. Mark Catholic Church in Marion and with Marion Manor.
