Georgia church is setting for Spear-Vaughan wedding
Katherine Ann Spear and Travis Hunt Vaughan were united in holy matrimony at 3 p.m. Oct. 8, 2005, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Clarkesville, Ga.
The ceremony was performed by Father Luis Zarama, assisted by Deacon David Hanson.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Jean Spear of Clarksville, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Charles Spear of Marietta, Ga., Arnold and Florence Holt of Marion, and the late Jimmie Spear.
The groom is the son of Terry and Aledia Vaughan of Cartersville, Ga. He is the grandson of J.T. and Joan Hunt and Betty Jo Vaughan of Cartersville, Ga., and the late James Oliver Vaughan.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a classic fairy tale white Oleg Cassini satin ball gown that featured off-the-shoulder capped sleeves with a beaded bodice adorned with an intricate design of pearls and sequins and matching white satin gloves. She wore a fingertip-length veil and cathedral length veil that featured pearls and sequins that matched the gown.
She carried a round bouquet of flame calla lilies, red roses, and green seeded eucalyptus.
Crystal Bartlett served as matron of honor. Allison Howard was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Krista Spear and Danielle Queen. They wore latte-colored satin strapless side-ruched ball gowns adorned with a rhinestone brooch and matching latte-colored satin gloves. They carried bouquets of red roses, gerberas, and seeded eucalyptus.
Anna Rose Hamilton was the flower girl. She carried a white satin basket filled with fall leaves. John Paul Hamilton was the ring bearer.
Cody Hetzel served as best man. Groomsmen were Chad Miller, J.J. Cole, and Michael Spear.
Guests were seated by David Shellhorse and Patrick Eidson.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance was held in the Master's Hall at Unicoi State Park Lodge, Helen, Ga.
The bride is a graduate of Berry College and is a teacher in the Bartow County (Ga.) school system.
Her husband is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and is employed by Shaw Industries.
Following a honeymoon in New York, the couple now lives in Cartersville, Ga.
Special out-of-town guests at the wedding included Terry and Louis Holt of Marion.
