Good call

Marion City Commission made the right decision Monday when they decided to proceed with a city economic developer.

Commissioner Jim Crofoot expressed concern about funding the position, saying funds would be there for the next two years.

By hiring a qualified, "hungry" individual to fill that position, we should see economic success down the road.

However, it won't be an overnight "fix." We won't see immediate results and can't expect to. It'll take time to find a qualified person and it'll take time for that person to make progress.

The city commission made the right call. Now the real work begins — finding that qualified individual, then letting that person do the job.
