Grandsons are Eagle Scouts
Ryan Meredith and Paul Enns, grandsons of Jim and Donna Fruechting of Marion both have recently achieved the Eagle Scout award, the highest rank awarded by Boy Scouts, a level achieved by only four percent of boys who participate in Scouting.
Ryan, son of Ross and Claire Meredith of Bartlesville, Okla., was honored at a ceremony Aug. 2, 2002. He currently is a freshman at Pittsburg State University, majoring in business and playing football for the Gorillas. His Eagle Scout project involved erecting an awning over a church playground in addition to sanding and finishing all wooden surfaces on the playground equipment.
Paul, son of Sue Enns of Wichita was honored at a ceremony Nov. 30, 2002. He is a freshman at Wichita East High School and is active in JROTC, soccer, marching band, pep band, concert band, and orchestra. His Eagle Scout project involved extensive landscaping and design for United Methodist Urban Ministries in Wichita.
Both boys have been active in Scouting for a number of years and have attended numerous Scout camps including Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.
