Group plans annual toy run in Marion
The 13th annual Marion County Toy Run will be held Saturday.
Donated toys and proceeds will be given to children and families in Marion County.
The toy run will leave Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion at 1 p.m., and travel west on Main Street to Hillsboro. The convoy will stop at Hillsboro State Bank where toys will be donated to the area community Christmas Tree.
Following the run, a chili feed and auction will be held at Hillsboro American Legion with items donated by area businesses and individuals. The public is invited to line the parade route.
The past 12 toy runs have generated more than $55,000, hundreds of toys, and more than 50 bicycles.
The event is sponsored by the Sons of American Legion #366, ABATE of Kansas District 9, and the Route 56 Classic Cruisers.
