Hardey, Waner are MHS students of the month

Kylie Hardey and Neil Waner, both seniors, have been named Students of the Month for December at Marion High School.

Kylie's parents are Ron and Shelli Hardey. She has one sister, Kimber, who is an eighth grader.

During her MHS years, she has been a member of Key Club and serving this year as president, leadership team, Future Educators of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters, peer mediation, and participated in the school play.

Kylie enjoys participating in Key Club because of the community involvement. Key Club has been active by painting the big "M", painting faces in the park during Old Settler's Day, collecting coats for Head Start, participating in Red Ribbon Week, and raking leaves for the elderly.

Neil is the son of David and Tena Waner. He has one brother, Nicholas, who is a ninth grader.

Neil has been active in football, baseball, power lifting, Boy's State, math team, National Honor Society, band and honor band, and peer mediation.

He has served on the color guard playing the trumpet, participated in the marching band, Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and Catholic Youth Organization (CYO).
