Harold Odle

Harold D. Odle, 72, died June 21, 2002, at Newman Hospital in Emporia.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with the Rev. Eldon Cox officiating.

Burial was in the Homestead Cemetery.

Born Oct. 20, 1929, at Simpson, he was the son of the late Albert and Daisy (Deering) Odle.

He was married to Bernice L. Steadman on June 1, 1950, at Cottonwood Falls.

Mr. Odle was a rancher and cattleman in the Homestead community for most of his life.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of Russell Blackburn Post 123 of the American Legion, Strong City.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice, of the home in Cedar Point; sons, Jerrold of Cedar Point and Jack of Birmingham, Ala.; daughter, Julaine Griffin of Snellville, Ga.; sister, June Smith of Terra Haute, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Janna Gail Odle and Jody Ann Odle Berry; and one brother, John Odle.

Memorial funds have been established with the Homestead Cemetery and Hope Lodge at Kansas City.
