Harris named teacher of the year
Stephanie Harris, daughter of John and Becky Summerville, has been named "Teacher of the Year" at Southeast of Saline Elementary School. She has taught kindergarten for eight years and first grade for two years.
Harris now will advance to compete for Kansas Teacher of the Year, which will be announced in September.
The Kansas Teacher of the Year program provides an opportunity for each school district to recognize outstanding teachers who exemplify the finest in the teaching profession.
Her husband, Jeff, also was a nominee for teacher of the year at South High School, Salina.
