Carmen Parrack came Saturday afternoon from Texas to visit Dorothy and John Hayen and returned home Monday morning. Her son Brad came Sunday morning for the day. Dorothy and John and Carmen and Brad attended the Collett family reunion Sunday noon at the Marion County Lake hall. Brent and Paula Hayen came to the Hayen farm Sunday evening with a cake and had supper with Carmen, Dorothy, and John.
Rose Olive Hett, Shirley Bowers, and Margaret Ireland braved the rain Wednesday afternoon and went to Eastmoor for UMW. Shirley brought the lesson on Missions and used a screen to hide Pastor John who played the voice of God in a skit.
Shirley and David Bowers attended the Berean Academy craft and food sale Saturday in Newton. David and Shirley, Greg and Mary Beth Bowers, Rhonny, Luke, and Stephen attended the Collett family reunion Sunday.
Judy Christianson, Roseva McLinden, LuCretia Winkley, Lorene Smith, Darlene Schmidt, and Betty Ireland were covered dish luncheon guests Tuesday at the home of Margaret Ireland. Judy brought the lesson on Life's Tapestries. Betty brought a Dresden plate quilt made by her mother Elizabeth Padget that contained the family names and birthdates, wedding and death dates for those who were no longer living. Betty told us that Padget had made six quilts, one for each of her children. We paid dues, took pennies for friendship, and filled out membership forms for next year. Roseva McLinden will host our next meeting. I took last year's Gold seal and some award certificates to the historical society where the Youngtown FCE records are stored.
Gladys and Bud Buller of Hillsboro visited Tuesday night with Leonard and Rosalie Klassen. The Klassens went to Newton Friday and met Elmer and Leonore Klassen for supper to celebrate Rosalie's birthday.
Marj and Joe Johnson and Ethan of Wichita were Sunday dinner guests at my home.
Visitors at the home of Leonard and Rosalie Klassen Saturday evening were Seth and Brenda Larsen. The Larsens have purchased the home quarter from Leonard and Rosalie and will be living there after March 1, 2004. The Klassens went to Aulne United Methodist Church Sunday evening to hear the quartet sing.
