Head nurse provides church service at living center

(News from Aug. 31 to Sept. 6)

No minister came Aug. 31 for church service, so Nancy Tharp, head RN, came in. We sang several hymns, then she read scripture and offered prayer. So we had a very nice church service.

On Labor Day, we had kick ball games in the morning. The cooks surprised us at noon with a picnic lunch. There was a watermelon and cantaloupe feed in the afternoon — all we could eat. So we celebrated the day.

We made salt beads in different colors Tuesday and strung them on wire to dry. The Dorcas Society of the Lutheran church came in the evening to play Bingo.

The prayer group met with Khrista Branson on Wednesday.

Sue Gutsch helped make zucchini crisps on Thursday. They were delicious.

The evenings now are so nice to sit outside for two hours and watch the traffic go by. We can't see the sunset for the trees and houses, but the fresh air is soooo good.

We baked cookies with Sue Gutsch on Friday. We made peanut butter/chocolate chip cookies, then ate the fresh cookies and drank coffee. The afternoon was spent playing Bingo with Magdalen Dvorak and Amelia Vinduska. May Hebrank led group exercises afterward.
