Helen Weibert
Helen Irene Weibert, 79, died June 23, 2006, at Abilene Memorial Hospital.
Born May 21, 1923, at Canada, she was the daughter of Wesley and Pauline (Perry) Schwendiman.
On Aug. 18, 1945, she married Ivan Weibert. In 1975, they moved to Abilene where she was employed for many years as a nurse's aide at the hospital and at Alco. She retired in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Cella Jost; and two brothers, Lawrence and Wilson Schwendiman.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Riffel of Hope; sister, Darlene Tinbert of Overland Park; brother, Kenneth Schwendiman of Marion; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Abilene United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dick Near officiating. Burial was in Durham Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
