Henry Hird
Henry Lawrence Hird, 72, died Jan. 24, 2006, at Herington.
Born June 9, 1933, at Herington, he was the son of Lee Roy and Anna C. (Ziebell) Hird.
On Jan. 1, 1954, he married Deloris A. Smith at her parents' home in Burdick.
He was a retired machinist with Southern Pacific Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gene Hird; grandson, Joshua Kimble; brother, Will Hird; and sister, Ruth Diepenbrock.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris of Herington; daughter, Degala Kimble of Henry, Ill.; two sons, Larry Hird and Lynn Hird, both of Herington; sister, Florence Howie of Harper; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at First Christian Church, Herington, with the Rev. Shawn Baird officiating.
Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial funds have been established with First Christian Church or Hospice of Dickinson County.
