Herman Warns
Funeral services for Herman A. Warns, 101, of Herington, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ramona. The Rev. Clark Davis officiated.
Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Hope.
Born Aug. 6, 1901, at Oldenburg, Germany, he was the son of Frederick Gerhart and Katherine (Pargman) Warns.
He lived in Oldenburg and attended local schools before moving to a farm near Tampa in 1926.
On March 1, 1936, he married Louise Anna Hatterman. They moved to Hope in 1949, and spent their married life farming in the Hope and Tampa areas.
Warns died April 10, 2003, at the Lutheran Home, Herington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, in March 1995; his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Leona Katherine Deines of Ramona; a son, Fred Henry Warns of Salina; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
A memorial fund has been established with Trinity Lutheran Church.
