Hett families enjoy trip to Dominican Republic
Jack and Donna Hett of Marion, Bruce and Sandra Hett of McPherson, and Tom and Shelley Stafford of Hays were recent guests of Lew and LaVonda Rothman.
They flew in a company jet to La Romana in the Dominican Republic March 14 and stayed in a private villa at the Casa de Campo resort.
During their visit, the group enjoyed snorkeling, card playing, shopping, beautiful vegetation, delicious dining, sightseeing in La Romana, Casa de Campo Marina, and Altos de Chavon, and sunbathing on the Caribbean beach and poolside at the villa.
They enjoyed a private tour of the Tabacalera y Garcia cigar factory and nearby sugar cane plantations. The men played three different golf courses including "Teeth of the Dog," rated one of the top 35 courses in the world. The families witnessed the newly elected president's motorcade and yacht several times during their stay.
The final evening before returning to the States, the group enjoyed a sunset catamaran cruise in the Caribbean, followed by a tropical dinner on the beach.
Before returning to Kansas, the group attended JR Cigar's event at the Meadowlands Racetrack where they joined 1,200 of the company's customers for an evening of fine cigars, fine food, and harness racing.
The Hett families were invited to the winner's circle to present trophies to the owners of the winning horses.
