Hett siblings celebrate anniversaries
In honor of the 40th wedding anniversary of Bruce and Sandra Hett of McPherson and the 35th wedding anniversary of Lew and LaVonda Rothman, the Rothmans hosted a celebration at their Morristown, N.J., home and a cruise to Bermuda aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2.
Others on the trip were Bruce and LaVonda's sister Shelley Stafford and husband Tom of Hays and their brother Jack Hett and wife Donna of Marion.
The Kansas couples left Wichita Sept. 16 and spent several days at the Rothman home before departing for Bermuda Sept. 19 on the QE2.
While in Bermuda, the group enjoyed snorkeling, a glass-bottom boat ride, visits to Crystal Cave and other sights, and other activities.
On board ship, both Bruce and Jack were winners in the Cunard Cruise Line black jack tournament in the casino. Fine dining was enjoyed every evening in the Caronia Dining Room at the table of two of the ship's officers.
On the return voyage, the QE2 docked in Newport, R.I., for a day of touring homes from the Gilded Age. The tour included the Vanderbilt homes, Marble House, and the Breakers.
The ship docked in New York Harbor Sept. 25 and the couples returned to Kansas the following day.
