Hett, Svitak, Jones head to state
While the rain fell and cooled things off in Marion and across the state Monday, members of the Marion High School golf team were heating things up on the fairways and greens at the 2003 3A regional golf tournament held at the Marion Country Club.
Nickolas Hett, Joe Svitak, and Trevor Jones advanced into the 3A state tournament with wins on Monday.
Hett paced the trio shooting an 84, while Svitak shot a 90 and Jones shot a 93.
Hett finished eighth, Svitak 13th, and Jones 17th.
Nick Carlson shot 94 and finished 20th, Justin Brookens shot 100 and finished 29th, and John Whitwell shot 106 and finished 37th to round out the remaining scores for the Warriors.
