Hillsboro shuts out Wildcats
The Marion Middle School football team offense sputtered Thursday for the second week in a row, as the Wildcats were shut out by Hillsboro by the score of 28 to 0.
Hillsboro controlled the game with a big front line, ranging from 5'8" to 5'11" and from 165 to 197 pounds.
Offensively, Marion was led by Travis Hett with 50 yards on 22 carries. Jason Hett had 40 yards on six carries and Kyle Hett had 15 yards on six carries.
Jason Hett completed six of 15 passes for 35 yards. Tight end Austin Hager caught all six throws.
Hager and Nic Waner provided offensive blocks.
Marion held its own defensively, limiting Hillsboro to two scores in each half, despite poor field position for the Wildcats.
Leading tackler was Hager with nine, followed by Travis Hett, six; Casey Baker and Jason Hett, five each; Hank Collett, Nic Waner, and Luke Bowers, four each; Kyle Hett and Ben Leppke, three each; and Calvin Jeffrey, Chris Brewer, Chase Williams, and Clay Riggs, one each.
Marion hosts Southeast of Saline Thursday for its last game of the season.
