Homer Ireland

Homer Benjamin Ireland, 77, died May 10, 2002. He was a resident of Hutchinson.

Born Oct. 30, 1924, at Marion, he was the son of the late Benjamin and LaRoma (Vogel) Ireland.

He grew up in Marion and graduated from Marion High School in the class of 1942.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He had been an employee of L.J. Bromerts and Wilsco Products and following retirement was self employed as a Home Improvement contractor.

He was a member of Park View Christian Church, Hutchinson.

On Nov. 25, 1945, he was married to Mildred Mary Silhan. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Marvin, of Hutchinson; daughters, Eileen Boehlke of Mount Hope and Nancy Johnson of Hutchinson; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest and Roger, sister Wanda Meier, and daughter Shirley Ireland Boggs.

Services were held Tuesday morning at Elliott Chapel in Hutchinson with burial in Fairlawn Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
