Hope ends CJHS winning streak

The Centre Junior High football team could only muster six points against a powerful Hope team in a game played Thursday at home. Centre lost 6-32.

Phillip Griffith made the touchdown in the second quarter on a four-yard run. The PAT failed. Griffith was leading rusher with 10 carries for 28 yards.

Others were Josh Olsen, two for four, Zach Slayden, one for four, and Ben Krause, nine for six.

Krause passed the ball six times for 16 receptions and a total gain of 54 yards. He also threw one interception

Dane Moore caught the ball five times and gained a total of 40 yards. Griffith had one reception for 14 yards. Aaron Bowman recovered a fumble.

Tackles, solo and assisted, included Aaron Bowman 6/3, John Gehrke 7/5, Griffith 2/4, Moore 2/4, Heath Shields 5/5, Ben Thompson 0/1, and James Weber 1/1.

The junior high Cougars are 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Eisenhower League.
