Hospital auxiliary board meets

The monthly meeting of St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary executive board was held at 10 a.m. May 30 in the clinic basement.

Judy Reno presided at the meeting. She led the members in the hospital auxiliary prayer.

Jeremy Armstrong, hospital administrator, reported on the election of members at the previous hospital district meeting. Greg Bowers was re-elected for another term and will serve as treasurer. Elora Robinson was elected to replace Gene Winkler. She will serve as secretary. Reno is chairman of the board. Martin Tice is vice chairman.

Dr. Fetch, a surgeon at McPherson Hospital, soon will be here to get acquainted at the hospital. He will replace Dr. Stephen Cranston.

Linda Kannady reported Rebecca Kimbrel was leaving the nursing staff and Brenda Larson would be coming back full-time. Dr. Andrew Porter is now serving some weekends in the ER.

Janet Herzet reported the census is down in Home Health Care. Carmel Samples is working as a nurse in the living center.

Herzet said the outside landscaping project was finished. Gene Vinduska and his volunteers were recognized.

Reno said she would be in charge of the Tuesday afternoon coffee at the living center next month.

Penny Marler is doing tray favors for June for the hospital and living center.

She reported auxiliary membership now stands at 110.

Joyce Richmond said sales of the gift case were $109.

Janice Case said there were 604 outside volunteer hours and 102 inside volunteer hours for May.

Reno read correspondence from the state board member solicitation committee. A thank-you note from KHA president, Alice Allen, and one from Darlene Huffaker, thanking the auxiliary for their hospitality during the district meeting was read.

It was reported hospital auxiliary scholarships would be presented at the Thursday luncheon to Adrienne Chamberland and Allison Maddox. They and their parents were invited to attend.

The next meeting of the auxiliary board will be at 10 a.m. June 27.
