Houdyshell, Batman are wed in outdoor ceremony

Sara Reneé Houdyshell and Randall Garrett Batman were married Sept. 29, 2007, in an outdoor setting at the home of the bride's parents near Lincolnville.

The Rev. X. Philip Smith officiated at the five o'clock ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Roy and Judy Houdyshell of Lincolnville. Her grandparents are Ervin (Mike) and LaVona Loveless of Antelope and the late George and Idella Houdyshell.

The groom is the son of Jody Batman of Oklahoma and the late Robert Batman and Bob and Nancy Diepenbrock of Valley Center. He is the grandson of Minnie Batman of Valley Center and the late Bryant Batman.

The bride's dress was a light gold taffeta A-line pickup skirt with beaded shirred bodice and a chapel-length train.

Ashton Smith, a friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's cousins, Alisha Loveless and Nichole VanWart and a friend, Rachel Vilander.

They wore satin truffle floor-length gowns of various styles.

Justin Diepenbrock served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were the groom's cousin, John Ducommon, and friends, Matt Miller and Kyle Bakker.

The bride's cousins, Haley Plenert and Lexi Stembel were flower girls. They wore light gold floor-length gowns.

Hagen Honas, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

Guests were seated by Chuck Leighton and Seth Houston, the groom's brothers-in-law.

Janson Tomes and Dustin Suffield served as parking attendants.

The bride's cousin, Samantha Potter, was the guest book attendant.

A dinner, reception, and dance were held at the Lincolnville Community Center.

The bride is employed as a graphic designer at FastSigns of Topeka. She will receive a BA from Washburn University later this year. Her husband is employed by Lowry Construction of Topeka.

Following a wedding trip to Vail, Colo., the couple lives in Topeka.
