How do you know Santa Claus is real?
Every year, children all over the world write letters and visit with Santa Claus in the weeks before Christmas telling him what they want most for the holidays.
In fact, the anticipation of what Santa might have left under the Christmas tree may even send some adults into a tizzy.
That brings us to this week's holiday question:
How do you know there's really a Santa Claus?
Brian Hiebert, Marion kindergarten:
"Because I saw his house. He flies in a sleigh. I told him I wanted a snow board and monster truck."
Hailey Watson, Marion kindergarten:
"I saw him at Daisy's. He brings me presents and has a white beard. We leave (him) cookies and reindeer carrots (for his reindeer)."
Kevin Baatrup, Marion kindergarten:
"We leave cookies and pop (for Santa). I never seen him 'cause I'm sleeping (when he comes Christmas Eve). I want a telescope."
Josiah Meador, Marion kindergarten:
"I saw him at the mall when I was four. I haven't told him what I want for Christmas. I want a Spiderman web blaster, and silly string. He comes to our house at night."
Megan Jirak, Marion kindergarten:
"Because I've seen him on TV. I want a Barbie."
Colleen Steele, Marion kindergarten:
"Because he's in pictures in my room at school. He doesn't wear glasses, although the Santa in our room has glasses on."
Erika Hess: "Because I saw him by Duckwall's and at the mall and because he wears red and white clothes and gives us stuff."
Greg Oborny: "Because I saw him at Dollar General."
Tyler Makovec: "Because he was on my roof."
Hunter Emerson: "Because I saw him out my window."
Chassidy Carlson: "Because there's no way my parents could afford all the big stuff Santa brings."
Austin Molleker: "Because I saw him at his house and he brings me presents."
Mason Pedersen: "He makes noise on my roof and brings presents."
First grade students at Centre Elementary School provided these answers.
Kyle Methvin: "Because the milk and cookies I put out for him was gone."
Timothy Vinduska: "Because there is a North Pole."
Ty Simons: "Because there are reindeers."
Amy Makovec: "Because when I wake up in the morning my stocking is full and there are gifts under the tree."
Daniella Beck: "Because there are elfs."
Solomon Brunner: "Because he fills our stockings."
Braden Pagenkopf: "Because I heard him on the roof."
Chad Mueller: "Because he gives us presents."
Mickayla Kaiser: "Because he gives us toys."
Cacey Simons: "Because the reindeers ate the food we put out for them."
Amanda Stuchlik: "Because we talk to him in town and he brings us what we like."
Grant Srajer: "Because the cookies and milk I left out for him was gone."
Mark Vinduska: "Because I write him every year and he brings me what I put on my letter."
