Intern hoping for unforgettable summer

It's a big jump from being a staff member for a weekly college newspaper to being a staff member for a weekly county newspaper. And that's just what I'm doing.

Last week I finished my second year at Southwestern College where I am majoring in journalism. This summer I am participating in an internship program for the Marion County Record.

Throughout the summer I will be covering community and county happenings. I will be writing stories, and you'll probably see me out taking pictures. You might even get a phone call from me to buy an ad.

I have about three years of newspaper experience. I hope to gain a few more months of unforgettable experiences here in Marion County. And your help will make that happen. If you happen to see me walking down the street with a camera in my hand, point me in the direction of a photographic event. If you hear my voice on the other end of the line, help me out by providing me with as much information as possible.

Not only do I hope to gain valuable experience working for the Marion County Record, but I hope get to know the citizens of Marion County.

So stop in the office to say hi or give me a call. If you have a story idea let me know. I'll need all the help I can get making the jump.
