Jack Helmers to celebrate anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Helmer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary March 10 at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. Friends and relatives are invited to help them celebrate.
Jack Helmer and Sylvia Winter were married March 13, 1952, in Marion by the Rev. S.D. Hower.
The couple purchased the Marion Marble and Granite in 1952 and operated it until Jack's retirement in 1988. Sylvia helped in the business, was active with Boy and Girl Scouts, and is a homemaker.
The celebration will be hosted by their two children Shirley Groening and husband Gordon of Marion and Ken Helmer and wife Melinda of Wichita, and their four granddaughters Kristin and husband Matt Brenzikofer of Clay Center, Jenny Groening and fiancé Aaron Acree of Atchison, Leslie Helmer of Lawrence, and Lauren Helmer of Wichita.
It is requested there be no gifts — your presence will be gift enough.
